How Hot is Hot?

Hot Yoga Nelson, was the first yoga studio to offer Hot Yoga facilities in the city. We offer both heated and comfortable temperature classes. Although there are many benefits to a heated practice, we know not all of you prefer it hot.

Heated classes are at 37 degrees which has many benefits promoting the natural detoxification process by allowing sweat to flow, flushing away toxins, whilst the cardiovascular exercise assists in maintaining fitness.

Heating System

Far Infrared Rays are part of the sun's invisible spectrum. FIR radiant heat is a form of thermal energy. This is warmth you feel penetrate your skin when you are outside in the sun. FIR light should not be confused with ultraviolet light which causes sunburn and damage to your skin. Far infrared rays do not cause sunburn or skin damage.

Far infrared rays are waves of energy, totally invisible to the naked eye, capable of penetrating deep into the human body (approx 4cm), where they gently elevate the body's surface temperature and activate major bodily functions.

1. Far infrared rays expands capillaries which stimulates increased blood flow, regeneration, circulation and oxygenation.

2. FIR heat is excellent for detox. Scientists reports that in the FIR treatment of clogged capillary vessels, heat expands the capillaries and then initiates the start of a precess to      dissolve hidden toxins. FIR infrared thereby promotes elimination of fats, chemicals and toxins from the blood.

3. FIR relieves nervous tension and relax autoneuro muscles thereby helping the body make the most of its intended healing abilities. FIR reduces soreness on nerve endings and muscle spasms, as muscle fibers  are heated.

4. FIR stimulates enzymes activity and metabolism by raising the metabolism and body temperature, FIR heat also breaks down cellulite - trapped water, fat and waste. FIR waves penetrate layers of tissue, triggering mobilisation of chemicals from fat stored under the skin, directly into the sweat. After about 20 minutes the body heat starts releasing stored fat.

5. FIR promotes rebuilding of injured tissue by having a positive effect on the fibroblasts (connective tissue cells necessary for the repair of injury). Furthermore, it increases growth of cells and protein synthesis, all necessary during tissue repair and regeneration. Excellent for healing burns, scar tissue and skin problems.

What are the benefits of a regular yoga practice?

The benefits of a regular Yoga practice are recognised by the medical community to be of immense help in restoring health, strength and flexibility to the human body, to strengthen bone structure, tone muscles and improve organ health as well helping to create a more balanced life style. The heat promotes a natural detoxification process by allowing sweat to flow and flushing away toxins, whilst the effect of a cardiovascular exercise helps keep vascular plaque at bay.

Can I still practice yoga when I'm injured?

As always it is best to consult with your physician prior to undertaking any exercise when injured.

Muscle and Joint Pain

Several joints, particularly the vertebrae, discontinue lubricating as effectively when a person enters into their thirties. Yoga promotes joint lubrication that may alleviate common feelings of stiffness and soreness, both reactively and proactively.

Cold muscles tend to be more likely to tear while stretched. Hot yoga advocates propose that stretching warm muscles is more effective and lets the practitioner progress deeper into poses. Since stretching is an efficient way to increase flexibility, hot yoga may help increase ones range of motion, thwart accidental injuries in exercise, and help someone heal from prior accidental injuries.

Tension Relief

Exercise, deep breathing, and reflection have been revealed to cut back anxiety levels, and hot combines all three. The psyche's fight to concentrate on poses in a sweltering atmosphere distracts and distances from stressors. Lower stress levels allow for superior and easier sleep, which improves the immune system and reduces probability of injuries o the body. Lower anxiety levels on the whole reduce weight gain, cut possibility of illness and injury, lowers heart rate and blood pressure, as well as improves mood.

Immune System

Raising your core temperature simulates a fever-like environment in your body, elevating white blood cells production and fighting viruses and bacteria. Your body also makes additional interferon, which raises the production of antibodies. Stress weakens the immune system, as a result activities that lessen stress also reduce vulnerability to health issues.

Weight Loss

Many people in the hunt to shed extra pounds consider the benefits of hot yoga due to claims that it addresses quite a few aspects of weight loss, as well as improved exercise and stress reduction. For the simple reason that hot yoga increases the pulse rate, your body then works to keep thermo-regulation, escalating calorie expenditure without the force on joints of further calisthenic of fat cells. Be sure to wear the proper hot yoga clothes because you will be sweating a lot.

Increased Performance

Many athletes take up hot yoga to improve their levels of accomplishment in additional activities. Well-stretched muscles tissue have improved range of motion and are less at risk of tearing. Joints in good alignment are less pain-prone in high impact physical activities. The breath control of yoga improves execution in cardio and anaerobic activities.

But these massive physical benefits are just a "side effect" of this mighty exercise. Hot yoga benefits your body by harmonizing the psyche with the body and ends in authentic quantum benefits. It has become an open secret that the determination in the mind has enabled individuals to attain extraordinary physical feats, which proves definitely the psyche and body relationship.

The truth is hot yoga is a form of total body meditation. The reason is that both your body and your mind work mutually in accomplishing the common objective of unity of psyche, body and spirit that may result in an experience of eternal bliss that one could only feel through yoga. The meditative practices via yoga assist in attaining emotional stability through detachment. This consequently gives us a remarkable tranquility as well as a positive outlook, which also has great benefits over the physical health of the body. As you can see Hot Yoga Benefits are numerous so why not get out there and get going!
