The list is too long!

New! Top 10 Hot Yoga Q&A's

1. What is Hot Yoga and how hot is it?

The simple answer is yoga postures that are practiced in a heated room. The temperature range is 36-40 degrees Celsius (97 - 104 degrees Farenheight).

2. Why is it hot?

Regular profuse sweating generated by heat can flush harmful toxins out of the body, activate your natural cooling system, facilitate calorie burning and accelerate cardiovascular function. The heat also warms up your body so you can stretch your muscles thoroughly and safely. Evidence shows that glands, organs, muscles, joints, circulation and other parts of your body are improved. The physical awareness and focus used in heated classes often provide additional mental health benefits as well.

3. What is the difference between classes?

All of our classes are done in a heated room, 90 minutes and perfect for beginners. Click here for a short description of each class.

4. Which class should I start with?

We recommend that you start with the first class that fits your schedule. Bikram is the most popular and is specifically designed for beginners. Hot, Power Vinyasa and Yin classes are also suitable for beginners. It's hard to say which class anyone will like the most and the best way to find out is to try them all. Click here for detailed descriptions and the class schedule.

5. What should I bring to Hot Yoga Classes?

Bring a bath size towel, water and a yoga mat. If you don't bring them, they are available for sale and for hire at the studio. Your mat keeps you from slipping in class, your towel goes on top of your mat to absorb sweat and these are essential.

6. What should I wear in Hot Yoga Classes?

Wear clothes that are easy to stretch in and that will be comfortable when wet. Shorts with a liner are best for men. And shorts and a running top are best for women. That's it. (No shoes.)

7. What should I eat and drink before and after class?

It's a good idea to have your last meal at least 2-3 hours before class, drink plenty of water the day and night before each class and specially drink lots of water after each class.

8. What if I'm not flexible?

Yoga is designed to help you get more flexible. You'll really benefit from it if you're not flexible to start!

9. How often should I practice?

Yoga can be practiced on a daily basis unlike other forms of exercise where you may need to take a day off between workouts. For the best results we suggest practicing 3 or more times a week on a regular basis. Bikram often tells new students "come every day for the next two months and I will give  you a new body, a new life."

10. Should I talk with a doctor before I start?

We recommend that you talk with your doctor if you are starting a new exercise program or have health concerns.
